Welding
Certified welding;
To become a certified welder you
would weld 3 or more test pieces by following a written procedure with amperage
specification, filler rod size, base metal thickness and weld position.
When you are done welding the test pieces the testing lab will bend one piece
forward, bend one piece backward, and pull one piece apart. As long as the
weld dose not break or tear the procedure is considered a qualified
procedure. Now a person can follow the qualified procedure to take a
welding test. If the procedure is followed 100% and the person has the
talent to weld they will pass the test. After passing the test, for the
welder to weld a certified weld they must follow the qualified procedure every
time.
We have certifications for
structural steel such as angles, channels, flat bar, I beams and box tubing (AWS
D1.1) and power plumbing and piping such as hydraulic power system (ASME section
IX).
